A couple of busy weeks

It's been a couple of weeks since I've posted any pictures/videos as life has been quite busy around here. We've had a lot going on so here is a quick recap.

Two weeks ago we had the opportunity to visit the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Garden with our life group. There is lots of beautiful plants and flowers to see as well as fun and entertaining stops along the path for the little ones to enjoy.

Last week was Vacation Bible School. I had the opportunity to teach in the 3, 4 & 5 year old classroom. Lilly and her cousins were able to attend VBS. It was an exhausting week but the kids had a wonderful time. Here it is a week later and I still here the songs and memory verse from the week ringing out through the house. Every time we get in the car Lilly immediately asks for her "Saddle Ridge Ranch" (VBS theme this year) music. It absolutely amazes me how quickly she picked up on the songs and suprisingly can even keep a tune while singing. I'm not sure there is a more joyful or breathtaking sound than hearing your child talk and sing about Jesus.

This week Mike was out of town so Lilly and I decided we would get out of town for part of the week. We headed up to my parents house for 3 days. It was so great getting away from all the chaos and busyness that life has somehow become and just relax and take in the fresh air of the country. Lilly absolutely loves her MiMi and PaPa and enjoys every minute of the time we spend with them.

Many years ago when my brothers and I were growing up it became a tradition to take a picture on "the rock" in my parents front yard. I bet we have taken 100's of pictures at that very spot and still continue to take family pictures there even as we have gotten older. We just so happened to be playing outside by the rock and since I had my camera I decided to get a few candid shots of Lilly.

While we were at my parents we were also able to visit my grandparents and cousins. Lilly had such a great time getting to play with kids her own age.

Our cousin Marshall is a farmboy through and through. He received this pedal tractor for his birthday and when he found out Lilly was coming over he couldn't wait to take her for a ride. They had a lot of fun playing and didn't even seem to notice that it was 90+ degrees out.

This weekend Lilly and I were able to celebrate Mike on Father's Day. We feel so blessed to have such a loving and involved daddy/husband in our life.
